The world of sports is at a standstill due to the coronavirus. However, this is not stopping the NFL from keeping the world’s attention with the Free Agency 2020. There have been a lot of interesting trades and unexpected, yet amazing deals this week.

To start, ex-Texans wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins, was traded for Cardinals running back David Johnson. The Houston Texans received David Johnson, the 2020 second-round pick, and a 2021 fourth-round pick. Arizona received DeAndre Hopkins, and a 2020 fourth-round pick. This was a very unexpected trade from Bill O’Brien. He traded the star Wide-Receiver to the Cardinals. In my opinion, this is essentially a bad trade by the Texans. However, this is a win for the Cardinals. Johnson missed the 2017 seasons with a wrist injury and had been a replacement Running-Back for the Cardinals, but once Kenyan Drake was upgraded to the starting Running-Back position after Johnson was unable to play, the Cardinals team started looking slightly better. By giving Kyler Murray another offensive weapon along with Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk, the Cardinals are well-positioned.
The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to make a significant impact with their defense this year with hopes of winning the 2021 Super Bowl. The Detroit Lions traded Darius Slay to the Eagles for two draft picks. Slay was the ultimate winner when the Eagles signed him to a $16.7 million contract, making him one of the most highest-paid Cornerbacks. While the Eagles gained a Defensive-back, they also lost one. Malcolm Jenkins signed a four year $32 million deal with the Saints guaranteeing him 16.5 million.
The biggest highlight of the week and most shocking was the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers deal. Tom Brady is leaving Belichick and the organization to become a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. Brady finalized an agreement with the Bucs by signing roughly $30 million per year. With the signing of Tom Brady, other players are showing interest in wanting to play alongside Brady. It is bitter-sweet, but the Patriots fans thanked Brady for all the years and his accomplishments he achieved while with the Patriots.
