My Growth

At the start of this semester, I started my sports blog to provide entertainment, information, and news worldwide by sharing on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. I’ve enjoyed uploading daily content every week. I have received excellent reviews about my work while also catching the attention of people in my field.

The one thing I want to improve on my blog site is uploading more content weekly. I originally planned to post twice a day, but I was unsuccessful in posting more than one piece a week due to a high-level workload. I promoted my content well.  February was the most popular week.  I had 172 viewers visit my blog post with an average view time of 1.48 views per post minutes. My best experience in writing the blog was reviewing my stats and seeing how many people were looking at my blog post.  The number of views amazed me because I couldn’t believe any would view it.

Creating this blog helped me to start getting a feel for being a sports journalist. This process of writing my first blog also showed me that I have a lot of work I still need to do if I want to be able to reach my goal. This blog is something useful I can use for my portfolio when it is time for me to apply for ESPN or the NFL. My most popular post was my “Hi Welcome to My Blog” piece. The post gathered the attention of 172 viewers, and that was my most favorite one, too, because it gave an insight into who I am as a person and why I started the blog.

Overall my blog has helped me realize my potential. Hard work and perseverance is the key to my success.  I know I have to do the research to create content that will resonate with my audience.  I look forward to reviewing my blog in the future to see how it has helped me to reach my goal of working for ESPN or the NFL.
